Manchurian wild rice is a large size perennial belonging to the Poaceae family it has big leaves and produces up to 50cm in length on the stem in autumn.  The Male flower is formed on the upper branches, The female flower on the lower branches.

Munchurian wild rice grows in the shallow water such as ponds rivers and rice fields and channels. It roots in the mud, and forms bamboo like shoots size buds in spring and reaches 1-2m in height.
